Reports suggest that Naveen Yasin, the doctor of Pakistani origin, was heading to Salford Royal Hospital to continue to provide aid to the victims when a man pulled him and started abusing him.
A Pakistan doctor who helped the victims of Manchester terror attack had to face racism due to his skin colour. He was abused and called a ‘terrorist‘ by the locals of United Kingdom. He was also asked to go back to his own country after helping the victims for 48 hours, as per media reports.
Reports suggest that Naveen Yasin, the doctor of Pakistani origin, was heading to Salford Royal Hospital to continue to provide aid to the victims when a man pulled him and started abusing him. The 37-year-old trauma and orthopaedic surgeon was by locals addressed as brown, P*** b******”, apart from being called a terrorist. A racist victim told the doctor “Go back to your country, you ‘terrorist’. We don’t want you people here.”
Yasin was clear that the racism had been plunged on to him due to his skin colour. He said, ” I cannot escape the hatred which exists due to the colour of my skin and the prejudices he had associated with this.” Yasin’s family moved to the United Kingdom in 1960. Born and raised in West Yorkshire, he resides in Old Trafford with wife and 2 children.
Blast:
On Tuesday, May 23, a blast took place in Machester City during the concert of American singer Ariana Grande which took away the lives of 22 people. As per the cops, one of the attackers also died while detonating the device. The blast which was termed as an act of terror also left 50 injured. Reports suggest that blast reportedly went off at the end of the concert near the box office area, however, the young American singer received no injuries.
Later, 8 people were detained by authorities of UK on the suspicion of carrying out the blast. UK Prime Minister Theresa May had confirmed this report saying that despite this the situation still remains critical and security forces are on high alert.
