Coptic Christians make about 10 per cent of Egypt's population, out of the 91 million strength the country has. Recently they have been a victim of such attacks.
Unidentified gunmen on Friday took the lives of 26 Coptic Christians, injuring 25 others by attacking a bus. The gunmen opened fire on a bus in which the Coptic Christians were travelling to a monastery in Minya province, which is south of Cairo, the capital city of Egypt. Around 50 ambulances have reached the spot.
Health Ministry spokesman Khaled Mugahed, about this incident, told TV al-Masriya that the gunmen had two cars on a plain field, which is around 100 km west of Minya, reported CNN. The bus had men, women, and children and many of them are reported to be critical. So far, no one has taken the responsibility for this act.

In December last year, 25 people were killed after an attack was launched at a Coptic church. Coptic churches, homes have been set on fire and the people of the community have been attacked physically in Egypt.
In 2013, a church in Egypt was torched which destroyed its interior completely.
