Zika virus cure: Extract of Australia’s native plant can kill the virus, says latest research

Mark Baldock, chairman, Health Focus Products Australia on Zika said that it is spreading widely in developed nations and, once contracted, the virus has been shown to remain in human sperm for six months.

Zika virus which has been settling down in the human bodies to destroy them might now soon come to an end after scientists in Australia have found ways to eradicate it. It has been researched that a plant in Australia can kill the deadly virus. The researchers have said that the plant contains such compounds which can stop its growth and sabotage it completely.
Researcher Trudi Collet on the new study said plaque assays found that extract from the native plant can kill the virus 100 per cent, adding, “Apart from Zika, the plant can also kill Dengue, Yellow Fever etc.” Collet further stated that his team of researchers will now over the next six months work to identify the compounds then synthesise them to test against other viruses too.
Mark Baldock, chairman, Health Focus Products Australia on Zika said that it is spreading widely in developed nations and, once contracted, the virus has been shown to remain in human sperm for six months. On the new invention, Baldock was happy that one day the disease would be eliminated completely.
The researchers at the USA Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that there was a massive increase in the birth defects in women infected with Zika last year.
Zika is a virus that is closely related to dengue and is spread by mosquitoes and by human sexual activity.
